Kids Say The Darndest Things Art Linkletter 1959

_____________________________________________________________

Many of you may not have even heard of Art Linkletter, but his Kids say...segments were and still are some of my favorite. The things that kids come up with, say and do, have delighted and cheered folks for years. (Including myself)
I love reading the sayings of all my Facebook friends children and hearing first hand from my kids and grandkids. I especially have had many a chuckle over the sayings and doings of one of my young FB friends...(Your Mom knows who I am talking about). This young man is one of my favorites even though he once told his mother that I was the meanest Sunday school teacher in the world. (I was constantly having to remind him not to climb out the window, we do not stand on the table and it really is not a good idea to lock the teacher out of her class room.)

Once, when my friend was about five years old, another friend and I were keeping him in the church nursery during worship. It was after Christmas and I was telling the other nursery helper how I had been a glutton and eaten way more than my share of sweets during the holiday season. I even listed some of the sweeter moments and noticed that my young friend was attentively listening to every word. His eyes got bigger and bigger as my list got longer and sweeter. "Why did you eat all that Debbie ? " my adult friend asked. I guess it is because I have a sinful nature was my reply. After having heard of all the wonderful goodies that I had consumed, I had just shown my young friend how he too could have such things, for he quickly and very fervently said "I WANT ONE OF THOSE ! (sinful nature.) This young man will be marrying soon and Lord willing someday he and his wife will delight in the laughter and joy over the darndest things that their kids say.
