After having no sleep last night I arose early anyway determined to get a lot done today. First , when I had the shampoo in my hair during my shower, the water just stopped for about 5 mins. (David has been trying to fix it.) Then I left the house to grocery shop while it was still relatively cool. As I was leaving the Food Lion there was a young couple sitting on a bench just inside the store, cussing each other at the top of their lungs. Apparently he was a "gansta" , because that's what she said. "I know you are a !!!! gansta , but I ain"t !!!!! scaird of you . " Well you better be cause I'm gonna knock the !!!!!!!!!out of you. Well, I walked past them and gave them a look. Next thing I knew he had her outside and slammed her up against the brick wall. Then she hit him....... Etc. Well I had to say or do something. So I stopped my buggy and asked her if she was alright. She said she was. I asked her if she needed any help. No,she said . I don't know what I could have done to help, I didn't even have my phone on me. Then I thought, if I have to I will pitch this gallon of milk at him. (Yeah, can you hear me trying to explain to my Dr. how I tore my other shoulder ? ...slinging a jug of milk at a gangsta.)
What do I think I was gonna do with that jug......Got Milk ...Pow!!!???
Well, she went out to her car and he stayed at the store. So I went on out to my car. Surprise!!!! Flat tire! (Flat NEW tire )
Back into the the store with my buggy. In the mean time the couple had returned to the bench inside the store. As I walked past them I gave him a look...but they were busy with their "sweet talk" again. But, at a slightly lower volume.
By the way I did not have my cell phone on me. So I got one of the FL boys to put my whole buggy in the store cooler and used the phone at the service desk. I knew where David was, but he didn't answer his phone.
Then two nice young FL men said they would change my tire. As we walked past the couple I gave them my look. (I really wanted to do that sign thing with your fingers to your eyes, but I could not remember which way to point your fingers...you know, the one that means "I'm watching you!"
It must have been a hundred degrees out in that parking lot, but I had parked in a shady spot. Those poor boys would have burned up if I hadn't!
Oh how grateful I am for their help ! So, tire was fixed now . Back into the store, gave my "look",collected my buggy from the cooler and entertained the couple with another "look"
By this time it was almost one. I started feeling faint and sick. (And starting to hurt.) I had not had any thing to eat. Thought a quick trip to the Bojangle's would fix that. OOPS,my gas light was on.
I was not about to drive down 601 with a wonky spare tire and the gas light on. I had to get my food and get to the place where I knew my dear hubby was before he left. And did I mention it was hot?!
How did all this turn out? Got my food and a big ole sweet tea (and the same for David in case I was able to get up with him) Yes, I caught him just as he was leaving, he followed me to the gas station, pumped my gas for me and followed me home.
I don't know about the young couple. And I don't understand why people just walked past without even looking at them. So sad, we live in a fallen world. But I do know that even the "little" mercies of the day was planed by my Father in Heaven. Sometimes when we are going through a lot, and our faith is low, God shows us protection, kindness from others, shade from a tree and a loving husband ...these are from His loving hands and "great is His faithfulnes to me."

All I have in my mind right now is little ole you with a "look" about to swing that big ole gallon of milk at that gangsta. funny, scary, and good for you for getting involved (and thankful that you remained safe)
Paul and I had a flat on our way to church last week. He was supposed to be teaching Sunday School and there was no way that he could change the tire and still get to church on time... BUT GOD, sent an angel our way...a very nice, young man who was even heading in the opposite direction -- he turned right around, had a much better jack than we did, he was much younger, stronger, and not dressed for church. He had our tire changed and we were back on the road in no time....only a few minutes late to SS. Praising God with you for His sending tire-changing angels our way!
